SENDING
We are commanded to go therefore and make disciples.
Heartland church has a history of sending. We desire for God to continue to raise up individuals within our church that are sent out into the community, to our nation, and to the world. We believe in praying, going, supporting financially, and sending people to reach the world for Jesus.
We believe it is the responsibility of the local church to send out. A part of that is raising up individuals from within the church who intentionally go. For some, that means going to your neighbors, for others, that means being intentional where you work, for others, it may mean stepping into full-time ministry, and for others, it means going to the most unreached places of the earth.
If you are praying through where the Lord is sending you, we long to pray with you and equip you to go! If we can pray with you, equip you to go, of if you any questions please reach out to Pastor Robert by clicking here.
Equipping the Saints
We believe part of the responsibility for the elders of the church is to equip the saints for the work of ministry. We have developed a ministry apprentice program to intentinoally equip those who feel called into vocational ministry. Applications are open at all times. For more information, contact the elders by clicking here.
...to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
Ephesians 4:12-16
WHY PARTNERSHIP?
We believe that those who live in a community are best equipped to serve and reach that community for the gospel. That is why we believe in developing strategic partnerships both nationally and internationally. These partnerships have three intentional aspects:
“you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8
LOCAL
We serve within our community. Our Jerusalem.
Our approach to ministry in our community is what we would term a shotgun approach. We are in Desoto County, we do life in Desoto County, and we love Desoto County. Our roots here, our love for the community, and our response to the commands from Jesus drive us to care for our community. We do this in several ways.
NATIONAL
We serve within our nation. Our Judea and Samaria.
INTERNATIONAL
We serve the nations. Our ends of the earth.
